The components for the water pump are as follows:

  1. DC brushless motor bilge pump
  2. Solar panels
  3. mobile structure
  4. motorbike tube
  5. Plastic bucket with holes
  6. Plastic water pipes
  7. Dc cables
  8. Waterproof screw connector for dc cables

These components need to be sourced locally put most of them need to be imported from the respective manufacturers internationally, and put together by local workmanship.

How to design the pumping system?

  1. The first information needed is the amount of water needed to irrigate the fields per session. So it is important to know the size of the field and how many litres of water needed for 1 Acre is around 4000 square meters. If you need 1 liter per square meters you will need around 4000 liters for this plot of land.
  2. A device which pumps 1890 litres per hour will need around 2 hours to irrigate the said field. According to the specifications you would select the corresponding model from the manufacturer of the bilge pump.
  3. The specifications from the bilge pump tell you that you need 12 Volts DC and 1,6 Amps of current. This information gives you the foundation for choosing your solar panels.
  4. Do a design of the whole system and then commission your local workmanships to build the system.
